I’m in my fifth year with the
Lady Warriors’ organization as a coach and/or board member. I am
currently serving as President of the organization (as well as coaching
one of the three 18A teams). Over the past four years, I have enjoyed
working with a great group of coaches, parents, and players who have
come through our organization! As far as sports, I have been involved with a variety of sports for the last 22 years. Besides competitive fast pitch softball, I have played and/or coached soccer (competitive), baseball, ice hockey (competitive), basketball, and slow pitch softball.
When I started coaching girls fast pitch softball back in the 2001 - 2002 season, I was blessed with a very fun and talented team and we had a lot of success in my first season. We finished 2nd at ASA ‘B’ State (out of 16 teams) and 3rd at USSSA ‘B’ State (out of 22 teams). Also, we finished 2nd in the Colorado Cup tournament and finished 3rd in two more (Columbine and Firecracker).
In the 2003 season, we moved up to the 16U ‘B’ age level and took 1st at the weather shortened ‘Top of the Rockies’ tournament. We finished 2nd at ASA ‘B’ State again, and took 2nd at the Blaze Invitational (losing to a tough Niwot Thunder team).
In 2004, I didn’t have as much success as my first two years, but I had a great group of girls who played hard every game and never gave up! We played a lot of tough teams and finished the season at the USSSA World Series in Aurora that year.
The 2005 season was time for me to sit back and just be a parent in the stands. However, my semi-retirement did not last long, and I’m back with an 18A team for the 2006 season.
With that said, I have another great group of girls, parents, and assistant coaches for the upcoming 2006 season and we are looking forward to competing against some of the very best this state has to offer!
