Randy
Pinto I
want to again
express my
gratitude for
having the
privilege of
joining the
Lady Warriors
Softball Program
this year. I
have coached
T-ball, Little
League Baseball,
Little League
Fast Pitch
Softball, and
girl’s basketball
with about 10
seasons
under
my belt.
I look
forward to
the challenge of
pushing our
14U team to
their maximum
potential. I
have played
baseball from
about age
8 through
high school
and then
have played
softball in
various leagues
ever since.
Although my
background is
really baseball,
I’ve spent many
hours over the
last 5
years attending
clinics, viewing
instructional videos,
meeting and
observing seasoned
pitching and
hitting coaches (and
picking their
brains) and
constantly reading
anything I
can get my
hands on
to improve
my knowledge
of the
game. I’ve
also learned
quite a
bit by attending upper
level tournaments and studying what really makes a good
coach. I
also have
access to the
expertise of some
of the
best coaches
in the
country right
within our Lady
Warriors program
for guidance
(please review
our more senior
coaches
biographies i.e.
16U and 18U
coaches as
well as
our very
successful 12U
coaches).
Although I really love to coach, honestly, I’d rather be playing – therefore you will see me running thru the drills with the girls, demonstrating skills (often embarrassing myself) and trying to get in as much playing as I can while moving the girls thru fast-paced practices. I also believe that how we handle ourselves on the athletic field reflects and teaches us how to handle other life situations and therefore sportsmanship, character, ethical behavior and “class” will be nurtured on our team.
As for my personal statistics, I am 46yo, married, 2 great kids (Melanie 13 and Samantha 9), a Family Practice doctor in Louisville since 1987 and love to play most sports but obviously, girls fast pitch softball is now my fav!
See you on the ball field! Go Lady Warriors! Coach Pinto
